Who Can Enter

1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, nominees must be legal Oklahoma residents and employed as a teacher at any Oklahoma pre-school, elementary, middle school, high school or college.

2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group Inc., LLC, KOKH, Inc, which owns television broadcast station KOKH-TV and KOCB, Inc., which owns television broadcast station KOCB-TV (hereafter, KOKH and KOCB shall be referred to collectively as the “Stations”), Books-A-Million, Mathis Brothers Furniture, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, local radio stations, television broadcast or cable, or any other media company, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.

How to Enter

(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Teacher(s) may be nominated more than once.

(b) To enter, log onto okcfox.com or cwokc.com and download the nomination form. Fill it out by hand and mail it to Golden Apple Teacher Award; 1228 E. Wilshire Blvd; Oklahoma City, OK 73111. No mechanically reproduced or incomplete entries will be accepted.

(c) The contest starts on September 1, 2007, and all nominations must be received by Stations by 5p.m. on April 1, 2008. Stations are not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail, server unavailability, printing errors, or any other electronic malfunction.

(d) Beginning on October 1, 2007 and continuing the first day of each month, two Golden Apple Teachers will be selected by Station personnel from among valid entries meeting the qualifications. The criteria for the judge’s selection will be based on the number of recommendations the Stations receives for a particular teacher and how their teaching abilities extend beyond the classroom. A total of eighteen (18) Golden Apple Teachers will be selected.

(e) All nominations received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All nominations become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC and the Stations and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Prize(s)

1. Each month, both Golden Apple Teachers will be featured during a :30-second vignette showcasing them as that month’s Golden Apple Teacher winner. The Two (2) monthly Golden Apple Teacher winners will each receive one (1) $200 gift certificate from Mathis Brothers Furniture, and One (1) $25 gift certificate from Books-A-Million. During the month of May 2008, a banquet will be held to honor all of the chosen Golden Apple Teachers. At the banquet, each Golden Apple Teacher will receive a trophy and a frame with picture.

2. Monthly Golden Apple Teachers will be notified by phone. Monthly Golden Apple Teachers must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within five (5) days of notification. Monthly Golden Apple teachers must show picture identification to claim prizes. Stations reserve the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the award based on the identification presented.

3. If a Golden Apple Teacher does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, another Golden Apple Teacher will be selected.

4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for awards except at the sole discretion of Stations. The Stations have the right to substitute an award of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.

5. The Golden Apple Teachers are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.

6. Only one award will be awarded per nominee.

7. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group Inc. Communications, LLC, KOKH, Inc, and KOCB, Inc., are not liable if the provider of any part of the award fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the award.

8. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group Inc, LLC, KOKH, Inc, KOCB, Inc., Books-A-Million, and Mathis Brothers Furniture are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the award.

9. In claiming your award, you acknowledge that Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group Inc, LLC, KOKH, Inc. and KOCB, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous

1. Odds of receiving an award depend on the number of entries received.

3. For a list of award winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to KOKH & KOCB, Attn: Golden Apple Teacher; 1228 E. Wilshire Blvd; Oklahoma City, OK 73111 by May 1, 2008

4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group Inc, LLC, KOKH, Inc., KOCB, Inc., Books-A-Million, and Mathis Brothers Furniture accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.

5. Stations cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen nominations, prizes or award information.

6. Stations reserve the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
